During the workshop, you will look at many different ways of creating portraits. From Da Vinci to Picasso, Jole will help you to discover how artists throughout the centuries created the artistic ‘selfies’ they have left behind to inspire us.

Cinderella in Rathwood - 25 & 26 March

 

Help Cinderella find her shoe in time for the tea party at Rathwood. Together with Cinderella, visitors will hop aboard the Rathwood Express down to the woodland where they will meet the Fairy Godmother and feed her geese. During the slipper decorating workshop each child will be able to design their own slipper to bring home. There will also be afternoon tea party fit for Princess, with Rathwood home-baked treats, a selection of finger sandwiches and yummy hot chocolate.

 

Put Yourself in the Portrait Gallery in The Ark - 25 & 26 March

 

Children are the focus of our portrait gallery, with a collection of 12 portraits by acclaimed Irish artist Brian Maguire alongside a range of self-portraits drawn by children. Having seen all these, you will be able to use our portrait drawing stations to draw your own self-portraits to add to the collection.
