Events for the weekend (25&26 March)
St Patrick's Weekend might be over, but there is still a lot going on in Dublin. Check out our list:
During the workshop, you will look at many different ways of creating portraits. From Da Vinci to Picasso, Jole will help you to discover how artists throughout the centuries created the artistic ‘selfies’ they have left behind to inspire us.
Children are the focus of our portrait gallery, with a collection of 12 portraits by acclaimed Irish artist Brian Maguire alongside a range of self-portraits drawn by children. Having seen all these, you will be able to use our portrait drawing stations to draw your own self-portraits to add to the collection.
Join Kristy Moynan in a workshop to find out historical meanings behind some of the jewellery on display and a chance to create your own jewellery, maybe the perfect present for your mum? Booking required. Donation of €2 to cover cost materials.
Getting a family ready and out the door is not the easiest task, even if you have been up since the crack of dawn! In order to work with your schedule, we have created a new format of FREE themed workshops which you can drop into at any time from 11.30 to 1.30.
Get creative together as a family, explore artworks with IMMA staff, and enjoy a hands-on workshop in the galleries. Explorer’s drop-in, fun and free.
