Barretstown Big Picnic 2017 - 8 July


We are hosting our annual Barretstown Big Picnic* on Saturday 8th July 2017 from 11am – 5pm and everyone is invited to come along. The Big Picnic* is set to be an action-packed day of serious fun activities. Fossett's Circus will perform three live shows for attendees (booking essential) and there will be plenty of other activities on the day as well.


Zoo in my Gardens and Summer Sun Fun in the National Museum of Ireland (Natural History) - 8 July


Drop into the Irish Room to meet the Education Team and explore the Zoo in my Garden and Summer Sun activity sheets. Complete the trail, pick up a pencil and take a peek at a summer favourite from the handling collection. No booking required.

Discover all the life under the pond we rarely see. We will be using pond nets and trays to explore life under the water. See water boatmen, pond skaters, dragon-fly larvae and more!


DF Open Day at Farmleigh - 9 July


Highlights will include career stands, weapons displays, a parachute display and capability demonstrations from the Army, Air Corps & Naval Service.
Historical research guidance from Military Archives the primary custodians of material from the revolutionary period.
Serving members, veterans and all members of the public are encouraged to attend.


Teddy Bears Picnic in Blackrock Park - 9 July


Teddy Bears Picnic, incorporating National Playday, from 1pm to 5pm will be a celebration of all things Teddy with lots of fun, games and surprises all over the park. Everybody, young and old is invited to bring their bears and blankets to the picnic in Blackrock Park.
