Dalkey Lobster Festival - 24 - 27 August 

 

There will be lots of exciting activity with Castle Street closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 p.m. each day. There will be twenty marquees lining the street with food and produce, live street entertainment and fun for all the family with a Kids Zone. There will be lobster, prawns, crab claws, mussels and all kinds of exceptional seafood available with displays and demonstrations by surprise guests guaranteed to wow your palate! The festival provides a family friendly environment for all.

 

IFI Family Film Festival - 25 - 27 August

 

Round off your family summer with some of our great festival films! In our animal-packed programme, we have talking cats, teaching frogs, racing buffaloes and loyal dogs. There are fierce wolves and very big elephants too. Our film adventures come from around the world, so we’ve some special guests to help with subtitles if you need them, and a chance for you to read and swap stories too!

Teddy Bear's Picnic in St Enda's Park - 26 August

 

If you go down to the woods today, you're sure to get a surprise!!! Join us with your teddies picnics and picnic blankets for some treats in the park! Meet Big Ted and bring your teddy to the Teddy Bear's Hospital, get your face painted and lets have some fun! Beary special guest Inni K will be playing some lovely sunny music on her ukelele for us, amongst other teddy bear surprises! We can't wait to see you there :) xx

 

Punch Lion Kids Comedy at Killruddery House and Gardens - 26 August

 

Come to the show for knock knock jokes and silly songs, nonsense word play and stories of pongs. Big loud mime and funny faces, laughing loud at weird voices. Making your belly ache with laughter, lots and lots to talk about after! 

 

Treasures of the Bog Trail drop-in activity in the National Museum of Ireland (Archaeology) - 26 August 

 

Bogs are fascinating places for archaeologists. Take our Treasures of the Bog trail to learn more about the artefacts found in bogs and see if you can uncover some of the mysteries of Ireland’s wetlands! Recommended age: 8+. 

 

Merrion Square Open Day: My Favourite Animal Competition in the National Museum of Ireland (Natural History) - 26 August

 

Win a chance for you and your family to get a private tour of the Dead Zoo! Drop-in on the day and draw your favourite animal to enter the competition. If you’re not in, you can’t win!

Creative Quarter Summer Festival in Dublin 2 - 26 & 27 August

 

What better way to show off the Creative District by showing off it's very creative people! Running over two days, August 26th (1pm - 8pm) and August 27th (12pm - 6pm), the Creative Quarter festival has a jam packed line up of events with on-street cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, comedy, an out-door movie and exhibition stands from local businesses. Supported by Dublin City Council. 

 

Tales for Tadpoles Pop-up Activity Tent (Creative Quarter Summer Festival) in Dublin 2 - 26 & 27 August

 

Tales for Tadpoles will be hosting a pop-up activity tent on Fade Street throughout the weekend! Children age 0-99 are invited to join us in celebrating some of our favourite children's books. There will be stories, games, colouring, activities and lots of freebies to take home! We are also offering everyone who attends a 10% off voucher for our Drury Street store! This year, as part of the Kilmainham-Inchicore Festival we are hoping to have our best family fun day yet! We'll have events for the whole family; tug of war, egg and spoons races, bouncing castles and even some animal friends.

We are very excited about the Blanchardstown Free Family Fun Day taking place on Sunday 27th August from 2 - 6pm in Millennium Park, Blanchardstown. Pop the date in your diary and join us for a host of free entertainment, bouncy castles, face painting, games, magic and lots more. It's the last event of the summer before back to school and we want to see you off in style!
