Kerkus Forest School Open Day in Deer Park - 2 Sept

 

We’d love to invite you to our Open Day to tell you all about Forest School! We run fun and enriching Forest School workshops for children in schools and in other locations. We'll be holding two sessions on the 2nd September which is available to book: Saturday 2nd September 10 - 11.30 for 3 - 6 years old & adults / 12 - 14.30 for 7 - 9 years old & adults Parents & Gransparents are more than welcome! 8 sessions programme on September & October Saturdays will be coming after! 

 

Eid Fest at the Park in Herbert Park - 2 Sept

 

The Under One Tent team is pleased to announce that on the second day of Eid ul-adhaa there will be a public Eid Fest in Herbert Park! Everyone is invited so bring your friends, family and neighbours and everyone else! Our Eid Fest will be filled to the brim with all kinds of fun activities. Look forward to a BBQ station, inflatable games, bouncy castles, open mic jokes, football tournaments, henna, facepainting and more! €7 activity pass for the whole day!

 

Superhero Training with Hamleys in Dundrum - 2 Sept

 

Join in the fun with Hamleys at the Garden of Pure Imagination Saturday, September 2nd. In their quest to protect Hamleysopolis the Hamleys Superheroes need YOU to help. Superhero Training will take place from 11-3pm – do you have what it takes to be a Hamleys Hero? Come along for lots of Super fun and games – Hamley Bear will also be there at 11,12,1 & 2pm and can’t wait meet you all.

Sunday Sketching in Hugh Lane Gallery - 3 Sept

 

During these free sketching workshops for families we invite you to explore and respond together to our collection and temporary exhibitions through discussion and drawing. Bring your own sketchbook along or avail of the drawing materials provided. No booking required, although numbers may be limited. Suited for ages 6+.

 

Hands on History Drop-in Activity in the National Museum of Ireland (Collins Barracks) - 3 Sept

 

A chance to explore some of the artefacts from the Museum’s collection of objects for handling with Museum educators - a fascinating drop-in handling session for all ages. 

 

The Totally Terrific Tomato Festival in Killruddery House - 3 Sept

 

On Sunday 3rd of September, The Totally Terrific Tomato Festival returns to its home at Killruddery for another fabulous festival celebrating the not-so-humble tomato and its incredible genetic diversity! This is not just a festival for tomato experts, it’s a great opportunity for growers of all levels of experience to gain some valuable knowledge from a range of renowned gardening and growing enthusiasts.

 

Bows and Arrows Workshop in Herbert Park and Dodder Valley Park - 3 Sept

 

Come along and make your own bow and arrow in this practical event. Then take part in our archery challenge! Test out your shooting skills in some target practice. Booking is essential. Please email Turtle at education@owls.ie to book a place or for more info. 

 

 

Drop-in Workshop: Before the Start at the National Gallery of Ireland - 3 Sept

 

 

Inspired by the collection and our exhibitions, these workshops are suitable for tiny tots (about 18 months) up to age 8. You can choose to stay for as long or as short a time as works for you. 

 

 

Family Fun Day at Farmleigh - 3 Sept

 

To celebrate the end of the summer season Farmleigh invites the public to a family fun day in the picturesque surroundings of Farmleigh Estate. You can participate and enjoy a variety of old traditional games, self created fun, creation as a group and free art play. There will be music in the Bandstand with food and craft markets on display.
