Ice skating in Dublin

If you have a kid over 3, you might feel tempted to take him or her ice-skating during the festive period, as it is great fun! To help you decide where to go, here is a short list of ice rinks in Dublin... Which would you recommend?  

 

I-Skate on Ice

 

Where: RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin

When: 14 Dec - 14 Jan

Skating sessions are generally scheduled hourly, on the hour from 10am prior to Christmas and from 11am post Christmas but please check our website for availability as there is a maximum capacity permitted on the rink during each skating session.

How much: from €13 adult / from €12 children (under 12)

Area: 1000 square metre

Note: This is an outdoor ice rink & there is a separate kiddie rink for children from age 3 upwards with balancing aids and double-bladed skates.

 

 

Ice-skating Blanchardstown

 

Where: Next to Blanchardstown SC, in Millennium Park, Dublin 15

When: 20 Nov - 21 Jan

How much: from €13 adult / from €12 children (under 12)

Area: 1000 square metre

Note: Online tickets are much cheaper... There’s a large main rink and a separate rink for kids aged 3-10 years, which is always supervised, while the penguin club will help your little ones find their ice legs.

 

 

South Dublin on Ice

 

Where: Tallaght Stadium, Whitestown Way, Dublin 24

When: 17 Nov - 14 Jan

Skating sessions are generally scheduled hourly, on the hour from 3 (Monday to Friday) or 11 (Weekends). All sessions last 45 minutes, arrive 15 minutes early. 

How much: from €15 adult / from €13 children

Dundrum on Ice

 

Where: Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16

When: 27 Oct - 14 Jan

Skating sessions are generally scheduled hourly, on the hour from 3 (Monday to Friday) or 10 (Weekends). All sessions last 45 minutes, arrive 20 minutes early. 

How much: from €14 adult / from €13 children 

Area: 500 square metre

Note: Opening hours change over Christmas Week! The rink is extremely busy in peak times, so with kids it is better to go off peak.  

 

 

Swords on Ice

 

Where: Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre

When: 24 Nov - 3 Jan

Skating sessions are generally scheduled hourly, on the hour from 3 (Monday to Friday) or 10 (Weekends). All sessions last 45 minutes, arrive 20 minutes early. 

How much: from €14 adult / from €12 children

Note: Early bird tickets for €9!

 

 

(Last year you could ice-skate in Dun Laoghaire and Citywest as well, but this year I have not found any information about these venues yet. They might open later on.)
