David Lloyds centre is not a designated playcentre as such, it is rather a family-friendly sports centre. It offers several cool classes for kids (members and non-members), it hosts brilliant birthday parties and it even has a Toddler Morning once a week.
As you can see from the pictures, its playcentre is not too big, but it is a perfect place to spend 30-60 minutes if you live close by and the weather is awful. It can get busy at weekends when most of the parties are held, but otherwise it is quiet. There is no baby area in the centre and toddlers / older kids can get quite wild while having fun, so I would not recommend the place for babies. There are a few toys scattered around the tables, but these are not really suitable for the youngest ones, either.
Unfortunately the cafe does not sell fresh cakes, but while the kids are playing you can have a coffee and a bar of chocolate or individually wrapped cookies if you wish.
How to get there: Bus: 109, 120
